Artist notes: I’ve explored my memory of this pas de deux highlight from Giselle Act II in sketches a few times and previously created a paint sketch to use up leftover paint on my palette. It’s one of my favourite ballet highlights because I love to paint the atmospheric romantic forest backdrop and lighting. This is a more experimental version of the iconic pas de deux, in which I explored brushwork. I had fun with a new brush and testing out the range of marks it could create.
