North-east coast seascapes

Inspired by the Northumberland coast, this atmospheric collection of seascape paintings comprises plein air studies and the oil paintings the sketches inspired. The plein air sketches were created on Alnmouth and Bamburgh's beautiful beaches in summer 2024. These inspired a series of oil paintings developed in my studio to capture the soulful and expansive sense of space at the coast. A selection of five paintings from this collection debuted at the Seasonal Colours exhibition at the Otley Courthouse in May/June 2025.
