Artist notes:  My early blue and white ballet paintings tended to have very flat backgrounds. As I grew in confidence, I began to introduce a greater variety of stage lighting effects and backdrops. Swan Lake with its moonlit lake provides lots of possibilities for me to indulge my dreams of designing scenery (not counting the backdrop we painted for a school play once upon a time).
