Texture in the Lake District

I'm delighted to be exhibiting in the Lake District for the first time. Three of my flower meadows are part of the current Texture exhibition at Cockermouth's new Dot Gallery. 

Proud to announce: "Among the grasses" sold on day one of the exhibition. Graceful bees buzz around a wild flower meadow with brilliant blue cornflowers set against a sunkissed sky. Nothing better than a red dot on the art label of a gallery wall. The painting fuses inspiration from the RHS Harlow Carr gardens in Harrogate, the Otley in bloom meadows along the River Wharfe and my garden daisies and bees.

"Poppy delights" is the second textured painting in this trio of exhibited summer meadows. It's loosely inspired by the vibrant poppies, cornflowers and grasses planted alongside the River Wharfe.

In "Summer glow", I return to my affinity for textured lavender creations. Tiny bees with glowing fuzz help balance the soft, silvery lavender blooms and foliage set against sunset hues.

Texture runs until 30 September. The gallery is located on South Street and I hear they serve great cake!
