Giving back: my bit to support Prickly Pigs

As a hedgehog lover, I want to do my bit for local wildlife. Prickly Pigs is my local hedgehog rescue charity. And since Hedgie and Hedgio are my most popular Ballettoons, it seems the perfect local charity to support.

Collage of 3 hedgie Ballettoons cards, hedgehog paintings and hedgehog photo

This weekend, they’re hosting a fundraiser fête at the Otley courthouse. If you’re in Yorkshire, please do pop along and support them. It’s a great opportunity to find out more about these lovely creatures. And how we can all do our bit for the species. Especially at this time of year, when hedgehog babies are born.

I’ve donated some hand-drawn Hedgie cards and two original hedgehog paintings for their fundraiser. If you follow the Ballettoons on social media, you might have seen Mini Driver and Snufflepuff (on the right in the collage above). I met these two when I went to drop the paintings and cards at Prickly Pigs. Absolute cuties.

Prickly Pigs usually has between 10 and 50 hedgehogs in their care. Find out more about the wonderful rescue work they do here. They'll be at the Courthouse this Sunday 7 May from 10–2. Please pop along to support them.
